Hi, I am Gergely!
I lead engineering platforms. I write about leadership. I drink too much coffee.
At DoorDash, I lead the Client Foundations organization — a 50+ person team responsible for the iOS, Android, Web, Design Infrastructure, and AI-powered tooling that our engineers use every day. My focus right now is figuring out how AI agents move from experiments to embedded, everyday engineering practice without hollowing out the craft.
Before DoorDash, I led platform teams at Uber's Developer Platform org, where my teams shipped Base Web, Fusion.js, Styletron, and the company-wide CI system.
Earlier, I co-founded RisingStack, started JSConf Budapest, and built the GoDaddy Open Source Center.
I write here about engineering management, platform thinking, and the parts of leadership that don't fit on a slide.

The Rocks in the River

AI is doing to software what Toyota did to manufacturing: pulling out the buffer that let every broken process hide. The rocks are coming up. That's the point.

Faster Pipelines, Emptier Benches

AI tools are automating the work that once grew junior engineers into senior ones. If we lose the mentorship layer, we'll have faster pipelines and emptier benches.
